UE Boom2

UE Boom2 is designed in a cylindrical fashion and maintain. The speakers give off sense of superiority and hardiness.

If you are looking for a good UE boom2 review, then look right here. Picking a speaker which is going to make you the envy of your friends is important. It’s not good enough to simply invest in a run of the mill, boring box. Sometimes you want to make sure that your speakers give off sense of superiority and hardiness. The UE boom 2 does exactly this as this UE boom review shows. The simplistic minimalist design is great for showing off to your friend, but what’s under the hood struggles to keep up with the competition.

Criteria

When it comes to portable speakers, unlike other UE boom2 reviews, we know you want to make sure that your speakers ooze quality. That’s right, making sure that your speakers are made from rugged and aesthetically pleasing material is important. If you are going to be taking them around with you, a lot of people are going to see them, and if a lot of people are going to see them, a lot of people are going to judge them.

So looks might come in at number one. But then there are also other things to consider. Imagine if you were spending time with your friends, listening to music, and suddenly that music isn’t there anymore. Has someone stolen your pair of speakers? No, the batteries run out. Making sure you have a quality and long lasting battery can be the difference between grooving through the night and being the joke of all your friends.

Finally, I would argue that portability is going to come somewhere on your list. Portability is important because, well, you are going to be carrying it around with you. Sometimes you might even drop it, so again, ensuring that the materials it is made of aren’t only good looking, but also tough, is going to be another one of your priorities.

UE Boom 2 Product Overview

The UE Boom 2 is the second boom released by UE; as you could probably guess by the name. The device is designed in a cylindrical fashion and maintains a minimalist approach – like many of the other portable speakers available on the market. Luckily, there is a wide selection of UE boom colors to choose from, so there should be enough to suit your personal style.

The design does feature a cross on the front, which gives it a slightly gothic feeling when you purchase the black color. However, with other color choices it doesn’t seem much more than a logo or piece of company branding.

This minimalist design is continued in the layout of its interface. A button on the top requires one tap to play and two taps to skip a song. I guess they think most people will use the applications on their phones or other connected device, because apart from a button for connecting the speakers to your device through the included Bluetooth, there isn’t much else in the way of controls. This could be a problem if you prefer to leave your device in one place and carry the speakers with you.

Despite being called the Boom, the speakers don’t quite manage to pull of the name. The Boom 2 only manages to pump out 80 dB of sound – much less than some of the other models available on the market (for example Jawbone’s Big Jambox or the Jabra Solemate). However, if you are only going to be using a speaker in the garden and not at a large outdoor party, then you are probably fine with 80dB.

UE Boom 2 Pros and Cons

Pros

Aesthetics – A nice and sturdy finish makes this one of the better looking devices available – despite the branding possibly being seen as a bit too goth for some. Also the UE boom colors are pretty versatile.

Cons

Design – The cross branding does not give off the most modern or classy look when combined with the black color.

Interface – With only play, skip and Bluetooth connect buttons, these speakers aren’t the most flexible when it comes to taking them for a stroll away from your music playing device.

Volume – Whilst it might be fine for the average user, if you are looking for something which can let sound escape, this probably isn’t your best option.

Logitech’s UE Boom 2 is a great option if you’re looking for a good looking piece of equipment, but doesn’t always match up to the competition when it comes down to the tech inside. The speakers lack the range of other products available, and the on board control doesn’t allow for you to go backwards. If you want raw power and maximum versatility then look elsewhere, but if you want design and elegance, then according to this, and most other UE boom2 reviews, this is probably one of your best bets.
