It is 70% off the normal list price which is pretty sweet.
We love the sleek look of the speaker and it boasts Bluetooth 4.1 so it can connect to all of your mobile devices and is rated at IP65 which means it is water resistant (not waterproof) and perfect for camping, biking, hiking, or next to the pool.
It has two 5W stereo drivers which means it is loud enough for a lot of outdoor activities and boasts a 2000 mAh battery which will give you 8 hours of continuous playback. One of the fun features to the Jackery is the ability to insert a microphone (or use your bluetooth cell phone) and turn it into an impromptu megaphone.
As far as the specs, it comes in at around 8 inches x 4.6 inches which is small enough to fit into a backpack or phanny pack (who has those?) and weighs less than 20 ounces so it won’t be a burden.

IP Rating
The IP rating for any speaker is going to tell your exactly how much pain it can take before it is going to break. The IP standard is an industry defined test procedure that puts the speaker under the elements (dust, water, submersion, etc).You always want to know what you plan on doing to the speaker so you can choose one that will do the job correctly. For complete submersion you are going to need at least an IP rating of IP67, but for most rugged activities an IP 66 or 65 is going to be fine. But, do your research and make sure it is the right one for you.
Battery Life
If you are going out on a long camping trip you need to think about external batteries. It is very rare that you are going to find a single speaker with 20+ hours of battery life. But, for most standard day trips 6-8 hours is going to be plenty as long as you remember to plug it in when you get back to your house.
Sound Quality
Check the review before you buy. Many of the previous buyers will have tried out all of the setting and blasted a myriad of different types of music. If you see a lot of reports where the speaker is breaking down on high volume or gets distorted bass with different music you can try something else.
